Square Format Garden Macro Photos

Posted on Aug 25, 2013 in color, photography

Wanting to do something a little different, late this afternoon I grabbed my 55mm f2.8 AIS manual focus macro lens and headed into the garden in our backyard. Despite it being late in the season, there is still plenty of color in the garden if you take the time to look carefully. All of these photos were shot handheld because I wanted to work more freely than a tripod would allow (a fancy way of saying that I was too lazy to run upstairs to get my tripod!)

During post-processing, it was clear that all of the following images would work well if cropped to the square format. It has been some time since I worked in the square format, so it was fun to re-visit that.
